How deep can locations go?

As deep as you need. A location can hold locations, which can hold more locations. Home › Bedroom › Wardrobe › Third Drawer › Blue Box is five levels, and nothing stops at five.

I moved a cabinet. Do I have to re-file everything?

No. Move the location itself and everything inside it comes along, with the chains rewritten. The app will not let you move a location into its own contents.

I deleted something by accident.

A deleted item can be brought back from the undo strip that appears at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds, photo and loan and expiry intact. After that strip goes, restore from a backup file.

How do I move to a new phone?

An encrypted iPhone backup carries WherePut across. If you would rather not rely on that, export a backup file from Settings and import it on the new phone — it restores items, locations, photos, loans and expiry dates.

Export and restore are free. They are not part of Pro, and they never will be.

The Ask feature says it is unavailable.

The on-device language model needs an Apple Intelligence–capable iPhone. Without one, Ask falls back to semantic search, which still finds things by meaning. You can also switch Ask to cloud mode in Settings and use your own API key.

What does Pro unlock?

Unlimited locations above the free ceiling of 15, plus new loan tracking and new expiry reminders. Items are never limited. Anything you recorded before is still visible and editable if you stop paying, and export keeps working.

Managing or cancelling a subscription

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refund requests go through Apple as well; the developer cannot issue them. Restore Purchases on the paywall re-checks your Apple Account if Pro is not showing up.
